You can but we would not recommend it. A better approach is to purchase a separate hot water boiler and use the Conti espresso machine as a backup. Espresso coffee machines are not designed to be used as a primary source of hot water and relying on it to supply all your hot water will result in customers having to wait for their coffee and the machine enduring unnecessary wear and tear.
The only time you might consider a 1-head Conti espresso machine is if space in your shop is extremely tight. Keep in mind a 1-head machine will likely be insufficient during busy times and will not allow any room for your business to grow. The resale value of 1-head machines is also comparatively low. We would always recommend a 2-head Conti espresso machine and a pair of 2-head machines if you believe demand will justify it.
The warranty on Conti coffee machines varies somewhat based on model. For example, the Conti X-One 2 Group machine comes with a 3-month warranty. While the Conti X-One TCI comes with a 24-month warranty on parts and the Conti CC202 comes with a 12 or 24-month warranty along with optional extended maintenance packages.
In 1950 a Parisian engineer named M. Siksik began producing his own brand of espresso machines which he named “Conti” in honour of the Quai Conti on the River Seine in Paris where his shop was located. In 1956 he moved his company to Monaco – not far from Nice on the French Riviera – at the invitation of then Prince Rainier and Conti espresso machines have been manufactured there ever since.
